Skin Lesions/Cancer
There are many different types of skin lesions including moles, birthmarks, cysts, non-cancerous and cancerous lesions that can appear on or beneath the skin. Some may be present at birth, whereas the majority develops throughout the course of ones life.
Some patients will require lesions to be removed because of the risk of cancer. Others may choose to have their lesion removed to improve their appearance or because it is becoming troublesome (for example an infected cyst or a large mole that catches on clothing).
Dr Boorer has extensive training and experience in the management of all types of skin lesions, including cancerous lesions such as melanoma, basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). Small lesions can be removed in the Private Rooms whereas larger, more complex reconstructive procedures are usually performed in hospital. Each procedure is planned, performed and followed up closely. Dr Boorer makes a great effort to leave you with the most inconspicuous scar possible.
